Facilitator
Could your organisation use a Facilitator?
- Are people in your organization polarized by strong opinions on an issue?
- Or separated geographically - making communication difficult?
- Are you trying to implement changes - in the face of staff resistance?
- Does your organization need to make strategic planning decisions that affect all people?
A Facilitator
- helps you to you achieve the outcomes you want for your group
- makes sure everyone is involved in the process, even the managers and team leaders
- tactfully manages debate to avoid undue focus on personal agendas
- skilfully elicits varying opinions to enable informed decision - making
- provides leadership neutrality to encourage objectivity, identify options and value different pathways
- can use gentle humour to encourage cooperation and, if necessary, to defuse tension
and
- diplomatically, makes sure an action plan is in place, responsibilities accepted and a timeline agreed to by the end of the session.
A Facilitator will plan with you to make sure your outcomes are achieved, seeking your advice, discussing the process to make sure it fits with the culture of your workplace, ensuring your confidence that the process is yours.
A Facilitator can help you manage organizational change, guiding the integration of new systems and people, assisting managers and team leaders with a process for on-going management of change.
Projects Undertaken
St Cottage, St Vincent's Hospital, 2005
"Jennifer, your workshop was fantastic, it has brought about some serious but positive discussions between us. I personally felt charged with enthusiasm and it was interesting to see the dynamic work in another space. Your broad perspective and insight was quickly noticable, I guess this is through years of experience with people. I learned a great deal in a short time. Thank you. The feedback and assessment forms also capture this day well. Thanks once again.
Byron Trevascus- Manager, The Cottage

The Branch is now in a much better position to help Groups and Sections plan and deliver valuable activities for all our Victorian members.
